Turn off message read in Facebook

If you don’t want your friends to know that you read their messages, you are in luck if you are a chrome user. There is an extension call – “Unseen”. Which you can be downloaded from here - Facebook Unseen

Don’t worry will not affect Facebook server, it stays in your browser. Basically it lets you view the message without telling Facebook that you clicked on the message. But if you want your certain friends to know that you read the message, you can manually set the message as read by clicking on ‘Mark as read’ button.
