By the time your are reading this blog, I assume that you already have basic knowledge of Android studio.
Before we go ahead and start building apps, make sure that you have the latest Android SDK, including Wear SDK installed. To check for updates, just click on Android SDK Manager in Android Studio.
Now, let's start building wearable app.
1 - Start a new android studio project and name it whatever you like but I am going to name mine AndroidWatch and in the field of Company Domain add your company name like this : aarlangdi.com then hit next.
2 - Select Wear and deselect Phone and Tablet, leave the minimum SDK as it is. In the next window select Blank Wear Activity then hit next.
3 - Leave everything as it is in the Customize the activity window unless you want to have different name for the activity and hit finish.
Right now your project should look like this.
Ok, let's go ahead and run the project in simulator. To start simulator click on Run button. When Select Deployment Target window pops up, click on Create New Emulator. On Virtual Device Configuration select Android Wear Round and click next. in the next window, select API level, I will be using Lollipop for this tutorial because I had a problem running KitKat Wear while I was test it, click next and in the next window, change settings if you want to but I am going to leave it as it is then click Finish.
When setting up finishes, from Select Deployment Target window, select the emulator we just created then click OK.
If everything goes ok, your simulator is going to look like this.
If you swipe it right, it will look like this :
If you swipe it to left, it will bring up the menu, which will look like this and swipe up to browse through the menu.
It took me a while to run it because my computer is not very good so if you have the same problem, don't worry because it will be faster in real device.
Thank you
I will see you in next tutorial :
